Sure, Coach Bass has elite-level baseball achievements miles long, but at summer camp, the emphasis is right where it should be: enjoying the game of baseball, building skills, and making memories.

Coach Bass’ camp has been a local tradition at Murphey Candler Park for nearly 30 years, known for its fun, and positive coaching style. Tom Bass is an icon in the community and also the Principal of Dunwoody High School.

What to Bring

Each camper should bring a hat, glove, and proper shoes (bats are suggested). Long pants are preferred to protect player’s legs. Be sure to write your name and phone number on all items.

Important Details

  • June 15-18, 2026
  • Monday- Thursday 8:30 am – noon
  • Age Groups: 6-7 y/o, 8-9 y/o, 10-12 y/o
  • On Wednesday there is a Home Run Derby
  • On Thursday, parents are invited for an awards ceremony at the end of camp.

Camp Staff

Experienced high school coaches and college players assist Coach Bass with daily camp activities. The ratio of instructors to campers is 1 to 10.

The field of players at camp is limited

Coach Tom Bass

Tom Bass served as Head Coach of Dunwoody High School for 18 years, earning 359 career wins and six Region Coach of the Year awards. In 2007, his Dunwoody Wildcats won the state championship, were ranked #18 nationally, and he was named Georgia Coach of the Year.

While Assistant Principal at Lambert High School, Coach Bass was the pitching coach for the Lambert Longhorns for three seasons, a 6A high school baseball team. His team captured the State Championship with a 36-2 record and a final ranking of #1 in the Nation by USA Today.

Through his teaching, coaching, and mentorship, Coach Bass has positively impacted thousands of students and helped develop hundreds of players who have gone on to compete at the high school, college, and professional levels.

Today he still holds six pitching records from his days at Georgetown University. He is the first pitcher since the 1930s to enter into the Georgetown University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Coach Bass was recently inducted into the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame,  Class of 2026!
